A Narrative of Love

To Begin

Language

Although we are blessed with language, we are also constrained by it. The constraints are less obvious, but every bit as real… and much more dangerous.

Love’s Meaning

So much has been written and said about Love, that whatever I have to say will be the tiniest crumb upon the table. However, this is a matter to which I have turned many times, and I have a proposition: that Love matters.

And then there was Silence

The practice of mindfulness and contemplation as a source of Love is an essential part, indeed the ground, of all and each of the diverse and different teachings of which I have spoken.

Voices of Women

The Divine Feminine

As an elderly man looking back over my life, I now realise that I have spent my life seeking the Divine Feminine, the Goddess and the Great Mother. It is as if I have always known she was missing.

The Wrong Turning

Of all the representations of the integration of the feminine and masculine energies, the one that has most intrigued me has been the stories of the threefold nature of woman and man.

Feminism and More

Even talking of the Divine Feminine and the Divine Masculine can still leave us with feelings of separation and possibly opposition. How then might we begin to work toward an ungendered discourse?

Pathways 1

Relational Being

As the old patriarchal culture begins to break down, new forms of discourse are being presented to us — each to do with wholeness and connection, each a challenge to the damaging discourse of separation and division.

Harmony

My proposition is this: it would seem that all human societies seek to describe their relationships with each other in terms of some kind of order — and one attempt to do this is to speak of harmony.

Pathways 2

The Tao

The tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao. At once I am caught off guard, for my own Western culture insists on naming and knowing, on possessing and controlling. What can I do? Well, I can listen and explore.

Taking Love Seriously

Suppose for a moment that we are being asked to become more truly ourselves, to shun fear and to love one another — to turn and take another path, the path that returns us to our true Being, following the path of Love.
